Maisha Microfinance Bank, scooped the GOLD MARK award at the recent 2019 CIO100 Annual Symposium and Awards Gala in recognition of the bank’s excellence in enterprise information technology adoption.
The CIO 100 Annual Symposium and Awards is the premier event that brings together Chief Information Officers, Senior IT and business executives to deliberate contemporary matters on innovation.
Themed “The role of Innovation in the Age of Automation” the two-day award ceremony, held at Lake Naivasha Resort on 22 November 2019, attracted hundreds of participants drawn from notable blue-chip companies across East Africa.
Upon receiving the award Mr. Ireneus Gichana, the Bank’s CEO, appreciated his team for constantly pushing the limits in product innovation to integrate digital solutions that drive convenience for all customers.
Maisha Microfinance Bank was among top three nominees for award of Overall Winner, but narrowly missed it to Mpesa Foundation Academy.
Earlier in 2019, Maisha had bagged the coveted Best Microfinance Bank in Product Innovation at the prestigious Think Business Banking Awards.
Both awards acknowledge the considerable success Maisha has had in demonstrating that it is opening new possibilities for its customers and the industry. Among the bank’s virtual products recognized include M-Doh, Maisha’s mobile banking platform, and M-Fanisi, a ground-breaking mobile-based bank account.
In line with digital banking solution, the Bank has rolled out its first ever Million A Month Account (MAMA) designed to promote and encourage a savings culture by offering customers cash-back rewards for putting away a minimum of 100/- for a full 30 days.
Maisha Microfinance Bank will award three lucky winners with the Grand Prize of Kshs 1 Million, while six winners walk away with Kshs 100,000 in mini draws and 300 weekly winners receive Ksh 1,000 over the course of the three-month campaign.
